Join the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill, and enjoy a FREE indoor concert by the Williamson County Community Band on Sunday, May 6 at 3:00 p.m.

Nothing beats live musical entertainment, and the community band delivers- children and adults alike will want to tap their feet to the beat, so bring out the whole family!

The free concert is open to the public. The almost 50-member Williamson County Community Band performs marches, concert pieces and jazz under the expert direction of band leader Ken Krause.

FREE BAND CONCERT AT ASPEN GROVE PARK

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department presents a free “Concert in the Park” by the Williamson County Community Band on Saturday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Aspen Grove Park in Franklin.

 

The band will perform patriotic numbers, Broadway tunes and marches under the direction of Ken Krause. Aspen Grove Park is in the Cool Springs area of Franklin, at the corner of Seaboard Lane and Aspen Grove Drive. The concert is open to the public and admission is free.

Picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are welcome at the concert. No alcoholic beverages are allowed. This is a family event and a playground area and restrooms are available.

The Williamson County Community Band will kick off its 12th season in grand style with a special evening concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the historic Franklin Theatre, 419 Main Street.

In the setting of the beautifully restored 1937 structure, the band will present a program reflecting America’s rich musical history with selections from Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Billy Joel and others. Special guest vocalist and local television personality Mrs. Lisa Spencer will also perform with the band in this salute to “America’s Musical Heritage.”

Tickets for the Williamson County Community Band concert are available at the Franklin Theatre box office or on-line at www.franklintheatre.com. For this event, cabaret seating is $20, balcony seating is $15 and classic seating is $10. All proceeds from the performance will benefit the band, an all-volunteer group under the direction of Ken Krause. Sponsored by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department, the community band has performed at Franklin on the Fourth, the Main Street Festival, Schermerhorn Symphony Center, local Memorial Day tributes and numerous other concerts since 2001.

Community Band closes season Sunday at Factory

The Williamson County Community Band will close their 2011 free music series on Sunday, November 13, 2011 with a concert at 3:30 p.m. in Liberty Hall of The Factory in Franklin, TN.

The Williamson County Community Band is a program of the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department, and in 2011, the band, made up of 50 volunteer musicians, presented 14 free concerts throughout the county.

The November 13 concert will be the band’s first appearance in Liberty Hall of The Factory, a 12-building dining, retail and entertainment complex listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Liberty Hall is located in building 12 of the complex, and is accessible from any of The Factory’s entrances.

The public is invited to this afternoon of free music featuring Broadway and movie theme favorites, Big Band classics and patriotic numbers. Admission is free. The Williamson County Community Band is going on the road on Sunday, August 28, for a free 3 p.m. concert at the historic College Grove Artsitorium, 8601 Horton Highway. The concert marks the first appearance for the Williamson County Community Band in College Grove.

Admission and parking are free. Concertgoers will enjoy an afternoon of music including Big Band favorites, movie themes and patriotic marches along with the opportunity to see and enjoy the restored Artsitorium building.

The 302-seat structure, built in 1957 as part of the old College Grove High School, was restored by Williamson County Parks and Recreation in 1999.  The Artsitorium is part of the College Grove Community Center and is used for parks and recreation programs, concerts, theatre productions and public rentals.

The College Grove Artsitorium is located at 8601 Horton Highway (US41A), about 30 minutes from downtown Franklin.  From Franklin, take I-65 South to I-840 East (exit 59A) toward Murfreesboro, then take Exit 42 South (US31A/41A) and make a right onto Horton Highway (US41A).
