NASHVILLE --- The winning entries for the 2012-13 Tennessee Wildlife magazine photo contest have been selected by staff members of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The selections will appear in the annual calendar issue of the magazine which will be available in early July.
The staff selected the winning photographs from hundreds of submissions and had the challenge to narrow the entries to 13 photos that will appear in the calendar issue. The 2012-13 calendar issue will begin with the month of August.
The photographers, who have entries that will appear in the 2012-13 calendar, are Andrew Collignon (Brentwood), Wallace Covington (Union City), Sam Hobbs (Goodspring), Jim Jones (Pinson), Roger Phipps (Spring City), Brian Shults (Greenback), and Ryan Yoder (Maryville).
The staff of Tennessee Wildlife offers congratulations to all of our winners and reminds photographers that if your photo was not chosen this year, your next year’s entry could be a winner. Rules and deadlines for the 2013-14 Tennessee Wildlife photo contest will appear in the fall and winter issues of the magazine and also in the fall on the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s website, www.tnwildlife.org. Photographers will be invited to submit their best photos on fishing and wildlife species native to the Volunteer State, and fishing and hunting scenes in Tennessee.

Contest to Highlight Franklin’s Colorful History

FRANKLIN –In honor of Preservation Month in May, the City of Franklin Planning and Sustainability Department is partnering with local photographer David Braud and Starbucks for the “My Historic Franklin” photo contest.

Amateur and professional photographers are invited to submit high resolution photos cropped for a 5x5 display. The top 25 photos will be displayed at Starbucks in Historic Downtown Franklin on their magnetic photo wall in May.

The City will also post all entries on the City of Franklin Facebook page and the new City Pinterest page at www.pinterest.com/cityoffranklin .

The photo with the most likes (viewer’s choice) and the top two photos chosen by a panel of judges will win a Historic Franklin prize package. Prizes include tickets to the Carter House and Carnton Plantation, Franklin history books and goodies from Starbucks.

“Franklin has been shaped by its colorful history, and our built environment helps to tell that story,” says City of Franklin Preservation Planner Amanda Hall. “We are excited to see what our local citizens believe is important to them. Anyone can enter and it’s so easy now for folks to snap a photo with their smart phones and email it in!”

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is now accepting entries for its 2012-13 photo contest for publication in the Tennessee Wildlife Magazine. All interested photographers are invited to submit their best photos on fishing and wildlife species native to the Volunteer State, as well as fishing and hunting scenes in Tennessee.

Interested photographers must submit their photo entries by the March 5, 2012 deadline.
The photos will be reviewed for publication in the annual calendar edition of Tennessee Wildlife Magazine. If a photo is selected for the calendar edition, the photographer will receive a cash stipend of $60.
The format is horizontal digital images on disk. Only digital images in JPEG format and of high resolution (300 dpi) sized as an 8 1/2x11 will be accepted.
Each disk submitted must have the name of the photographer stamped or written on it. No prints can be accepted. (Sorry, disks cannot be returned).

Enjoy celebrating parks and recreation this summer at your favorite park! July is National Parks and Recreation Month and in honor of this celebration, Williamson County Parks and Recreation will sponsor a Photo Contest.

Get your camera ready the next time you visit one of the many parks, playgrounds or pools in Williamson County, and you could be the winner of our photo contest.

There are three age divisions; Children 6-12, teens 13-17 and adults 18 and older.

The three photo categories include: Parks, Playgrounds and Pools; Sports and Family Leisure.

Prizes will be awarded for the best photograph in each category. The contest is open to all amateur photographers in Williamson County. Entries may be submitted from Monday, July 11-Friday, July 22. Judging will take place on Monday July 25.
