YLB Grads Receive College Scholarships
BRENTWOOD, TN---April 26, 2012 ---Three Youth Leadership Brentwood graduates will receive college scholarships at the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon on May 17, 2012. These scholarship grants are awarded by the BCS Chamber Foundation, Youth Leadership Brentwood, and the Leadership Brentwood Alumni Association.
Recipients are Savannah Cleveland, a senior at Brentwood High School, who will attend the University of South Carolina; Peyton McClure, a senior at Brentwood High School, who will attend Vanderbilt University; and Kevin Okseniuk, a senior at Ravenwood High School, who will attend Georgia Institute of Technology. Graduates of the Youth Leadership Brentwood program, entering four-year accredited colleges in the fall of 2012, were eligible to apply for these scholarships. Selection is based on leadership potential, academic achievement, community involvement, personal goals, references, and personal interviews.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The 3rd annual Strings & Stories Songwriter’s Night will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Wedding 101 at The Factory in Franklin. The songwriter’s night fundraiser will begin at 6:30 pm and will include appetizers by Whole Foods of Cool Springs, dinner by Amerigo’s, wine by Del Rio Wine & Spirits, and musical performances from Nashville’s own award-winning songwriters:
JONATHAN CAIN of the band “JOURNEY”: After performing, writing and recording with some of the some of the best known bands and vocalists of the eighties, keyboardist and longtime member of "Journey", Jonathan Cain can look back and reflect on a successful career. He has received two of the most prestigious BMI songwriter awards - "Most Performed Song of the Year", for over two million or more radio plays with songs "Open Arms and "Who's Cryin’ Now". Journey's "Greatest Hits" received the "Diamond Award" for sales of ten million and the band has sold 60 million albums with a string of top ten singles accounting for over two decades of music played on the radio.
LESLIE SATCHER: Leslie has written hits for Kellie Pickler, Joe Diffie, Sara Evans, Lee Ann Womack, Wade Hayes, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Pam Tillis, and Willie Nelson. Longtime hero Willie Nelson wrote Leslie's heart when he put down the words "...on the road again..." for that truly is where this Texas singer/songwriter loves to be. Leslie believes that meeting the people who find meaning in her songs is a gift from God.
MARV GREEN: Artists including George Strait, Reba, Jewel, Lonestar, Faith Hill, Brooks And Dunn,Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Bon Jovi, Mark Chesnutt, Jo Dee Messina, Trent Willmon, Lee Ann Womack, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Jessica Andrews, Kelly Pickler, Brad Paisley, Rodney Atkins, Billy Currington, Danny Gokey and Joe Diffie have recorded his songs. Marv captured his first number-one hit, 'True', recorded by George Strait in 1998. The following year he scored his second number-one with 'Amazed' recorded by Lonestar. 'Amazed' spent a record breaking eight weeks at number one on Billboard. Green was honered by BMI with their Song Of The Year Award in 2000. Green was awarded the BMI Songwriter Of The Year in 2001. Marv also claimed the ACM Song Of The Year for 'Amazed' as well as a Grammy nomination.
KATE&KACEY: If you thought the Olsen twins were a dynamic duo, wait till you meet Kate & Kacey Coppola. These identical twins have just started their journey down the road of the country music industry and are enjoying every second of the ride. The girls met singer/songwriter Jamie Johnson during their time in LA and he helped them get their foot in the back door of the country music mansion, Nashville. Taking his advice, the girls moved to Tennessee three years ago and have been pursuing their music vigorously since.

Skippy Lou - Jill Napier is a cancer patient who recently lost her beloved dog, Skippy Lou in Brentwood. While Jill was having surgery to battle her cancer, Skippy Lou was lost from her petsitter's home. Jill is completely heartbroken over the loss of Skippy Lou and is soon scheduled for chemo and will need her pup there at home with her. We desperately need your help to get the word out -

Former FBI Special Agent from Brentwood Sentenced to Prison
(Source: FBI) NASHVILLE, TN—Former FBI Special Agent Darin Lee McAllister, 44, of Brentwood, Tenn., was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Nashville, to 48 months in prison for his December 2010, convictions on wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud. In addition to his prison sentence, McAllister was ordered to pay $675,142.83, in restitution to the victims of his fraud and a special assessment of $1800.00. Upon his release from prison, McAllister will also serve a term of three years’ supervised release.
McAllister was indicted in May 2010 by a federal grand jury for wire fraud, bank fraud, and swearing a false oath in bankruptcy. He devised a scheme to defraud SunTrust Mortgage Co., Inc., in connection with the purchase of rental properties totaling $1.25 million in May and July 2006. In addition, he devised a scheme to defraud the SunTrust Bank in connection with a $100,000 line of credit and making three false statements in connection with his subsequent bankruptcy petition in July 2009. As referenced above, following a trial by jury in U.S. District Court, McAllister was convicted of 15 counts of wire fraud and three counts of bankruptcy fraud in December 2010. The jury failed to reach a verdict on the bank fraud charge.
