WCS teachers earn national certification

Several Williamson County teachers were recently honored for expanding their knowledge of the teaching profession.  Amanda Clarke, Clovercroft Elementary; Tiffany Wilson-Mobley, Fairview schools; and Sue Jordan, Franklin High; were recognized by the Williamson County School Board January 17 for earning National Board Certification.

National Board Certification is considered the gold standard for teaching excellence.  NBCT distinction is achieved by performance-based assessment and testing that takes one to three years to complete.  Candidates undergo a ten-part evaluation process specific to the teacher's discipline, including performance assessments of teaching strategies and written exercises to assess subject knowledge.

In addition to the three teachers who earned National Board Certification, four Williamson County teachers renewed their National Board Certification.  They are Christie Feiler, Brentwood High; Michele Rook, Clovercroft Elementary; Jill Lloyd-Crucini, Sunset Middle; and Shannon Bradley, Winstead Elementary.
