Star Bright Players to present 'Aladdin Jr.'

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department presents the Star Bright Players in “Aladdin Jr.,” Thursday, Friday and Saturday April 19, 20 and 21 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. at Freedom Middle School, 750 Highway 96 West in Franklin. The whole family will enjoy this youth production of the Disney classic, performed by a local cast of kids ages 7 to 14.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, or at the door if available. Admission is $6 per person. Children 3 and younger are admitted free if sitting with a parent. For more information regarding “Aladdin Jr.” call (615) 790-5719, ext. 30.

Come have dinner at Chick-fil-A and help support local children’s theatre on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Chick-fil-A at 3063 Mallory Lane (located in Thoroughbred Square) in Franklin will donate a percentage of profits from all dine-in or drive-thru sales to the award-winning Star Bright Players, a children’s theatre program of the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department.

The theatre group presents two productions each year featuring local youth performers. Moe's sets fundraiser for Star Bright Players

Enjoy a delicious dinner at Moe’s Southwest Grill in Cool Springs and help support children’s theatre on Wednesday, February 22, 1012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Moe’s Southwest Grill at 401-A Cool Springs Blvd. will donate a percentage of profits from all dine-in and carry-out sales to the award-winning Star Bright Players, a children’s theatre program of the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department.

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s award-winning children’s theatre group, the Star Bright Players, announces auditions for a special production of Disney’s “Aladdin, Jr.” Auditions for this “kids only” show will be Sunday, February 5 at Freedom Middle School, 750 Highway 96 West in Franklin.

“Aladdin, Jr.” will showcase young talent in the community, and the cast will be made up of children ages 7 through 14. Performers must be ages 7 to 14 at the time of audition.

Auditions for new participants in Star Bright will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by returning Star Bright Player auditions from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children may arrive anytime during these time periods, but must be prepared to wait. Parents must remain in waiting areas and may not observe auditions. Children will be required to sing a song and some may be called back for a second audition on Monday, February 6 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Freedom Middle School. If preparing a selection to sing, please choose something in the musical theatre genre.

Rehearsals for “Aladdin, Jr.” will be held at Freedom Middle School on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for nine weeks. If cast, children must be able to meet the commitments of this rehearsal schedule. There is a $70 activity fee for all children cast in the show (includes costume rental and cast t-shirt).

'Anything Goes' at Star Bright Players Show

 

Cole Porter’s classic Broadway musical “Anything Goes” sails into Franklin, TN on December 1, 2 and 3. “Anything Goes” will be presented by the Star Bright Players, the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s award-winning children’s theatre group.

Enjoy the antics of the all-teen cast as they dance and sing their way through a hilarious trans-Atlantic voyage featuring Porter classics like “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “You’re the Top,” and of course “Anything Goes.”

Performances of the 2011 Tony award-winning show are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, December 1 and 2 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, December 3 at 3 p.m. at Freedom Middle School, 750 Highway 96 West in Franklin.
