Community Bank concert at Longview Sunday
Join the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill, and enjoy a FREE indoor concert by the Williamson County Community Band on Sunday, May 6 at 3:00 p.m.
Nothing beats live musical entertainment, and the community band delivers- children and adults alike will want to tap their feet to the beat, so bring out the whole family!
The free concert is open to the public. The almost 50-member Williamson County Community Band performs marches, concert pieces and jazz under the expert direction of band leader Ken Krause.

Brunch with the Bunny at three rec centers
The Easter Bunny is coming to town! Join the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department at one of our Brunch with the Bunny events on Saturday, March 24 at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Boulevard, Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, or the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Drive.
Families with children age 10 and younger will enjoy a delicious brunch, then each child will have a personal visit with the Easter Bunny. Parents are required to attend with children. Events will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:0 a.m., and the cost is $6 per child. Space is limited for each event. Reserve a spot today for your child to enjoy this extra special event! Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until full. Registration is underway! Payment must be made within 5 days of registration in order to secure your spot.

WCPR Spring Crafts Show at Longview March 3
Join Williamson County Parks and Recreation for the 18th Annual Spring Craft Show held at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive, Spring Hill, on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Admission is FREE and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.
This annual event is the perfect time to stock up on Easter decorations and beautiful home décor items. Choose from a variety of original handmade crafts, gifts and more. You and your family will enjoy a relaxing day shopping for crafts such as stained glass, jewelry, woodworking, bird houses, crochet, quilted items, soaps and candles, doll clothes, photography and more.

ArtSparks open house at Longview Jan. 28
Make plans now to attend the annual Arts and Crafts Open House, ArtSparks, at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill, on Saturday, January 28, 2012!
Williamson County Parks and Recreation will showcase a gallery full of professional and amateur talent provided by students and instructors from 20 different types of art classes offered by our department. Children and adults alike will want to “spark” their creative side with free “make-it, take-it” projects, demonstrations and face painting. Our Sticky Fingers Pre-School Club will also feature their very own Art Show. Many instructors will be on hand to demonstrate their craft and answer any questions you may have.

'Minute to win It' family fun night Jan. 14
Williamson County Parks and Recreation invites you and your family to an extra special event at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive.
You’ll have a “Minute to Win It” by participating in five different challenges using household items while competing against other families.
Modeled after the newest TV game show that is sweeping the nation, the Minute to Win It Fun and Games Night will take place on Saturday, January 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $4 per person. Dinner from McDonalds will be provided and awesome prizes will be awarded! Sixty seconds on the clock…Ready…Set…Go!
Registration begins on Tuesday, December 20 at 10 a.m. Space is limited and reservations are first come first served. Story Time with Santa Dec. 9 at Longview
Santa is coming to town and you are invited to an extra special event!
The jolly ole elf will be making a special trip from the North Pole Friday, December 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to visit the Longview Recreation Center!
Kids, come dressed in your favorite PJ’s to have cookies and milk while listening to Santa read a Holiday Story. After story time, each child will have the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and give their Christmas wish list. Parents don’t forget to bring your cameras!

Halloween events for children at Longview, Fairview Oct. 22
Williamson County Parks and Recreation has two Halloween events for children scheduled for Oct. 22, one at Longview and one at Fairview.

There are still spaces available for Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s fourth annual Halloween Spookfest at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill!
Spookfest will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 22. Kids ages 2-12 will enjoy a spooky evening of Trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, cupcake walk, face painting and a fortune teller. Costume and Scariest scream contests begin at 7:30 p.m. Top off the night in the gym with the balloon drop grand finale!

HALLOWEEN BLOWOUT AT FAIRVIEW
Williamson County Parks and Recreation will host Halloween Blowout on Saturday, October 22 at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Boulevard.
Young spirits ages 2-12 (accompanied by an adult) can participate in this spooky evening fun from 6-8:30 p.m. Little goblins can play all kinds of carnival games in the gym like ring toss, pick a duck game, bean bag game, balloon dart game and more. Costume and scariest scream contests will be held and kids can have their fortune told by Fairview’s own fortune teller!
At the end of the night, you can take part in our balloon drop sponsored by Sonic, where over 2,000 balloons filled with goodies will be dropped from the ceiling!

Senior lifestyle enrichment series offered again
The Senior Division of Williamson County Parks and Recreation is pleased to host the Lifestyle Enrichment Series again for 2011.
This series provides seniors, 55 and up, with an opportunity to attend free educational sessions. These informative sessions are presented by community healthcare professionals, to provide valuable information on improving their overall quality of life.
The Lifestyle Enrichment Series will be offered September 14-November 10 at the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill, and the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road.
